The Miss Arlington Scholarship Organization is 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization run by a group of volunteers who believe in the value and mission of the Miss America Organization (MAO). We partner with generous sponsors and scholarship donors who share the belief that an investment of our time, knowledge, and money in today’s young women will open doors and provide opportunities for a better future. We encourage the young women who participate in this program to involve themselves within their communities and appreciate the value of community service, and to be a fearless advocate for a cause that is important to them. 

The Miss Arlington Organization competition is our annual event to find those special “Miss” and “Teen” titleholders to represent Arlington and Loudoun County at the Miss Virginia and Miss Virginia's Teen Competitions each June. Our organization will actively support each and every Miss Arlington, Miss Loudoun County, and Teens in every way possible. We support our titleholders as they promote their community service and social impact issues, we help them fine tune their paperwork and public speaking skills, and we help to build a strong foundation that will boost them as they prepare for the state competitions in June.

​The Miss Arlington Scholarship Organization is a proud member of the Miss Virginia/Miss America family. An avid supporter of higher education for young women, especially in the fields of S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), the MAO is one of the nation’s largest providers of scholarship assistance to young women. Furthermore, contestants at all levels of competition are encouraged to be involved in their communities through charitable and community service activities, and to use their voices to educate and bring awareness about today’s critical issues. The organization supports empowering young women across the country to be the best they can be through leadership, talent, communication skills and smarts.

Running a local scholarship competition in the Miss Virginia and Miss America system is truly a labor of love. We work extremely hard to ensure that our annual local competition is a fun and enjoyable experience for not only our winners, but for all participants as well. Only four young ladies will walk away with the Miss Arlington, Miss Loudoun County, Miss Arlington's Teen, and Miss Loudoun County's Teen crowns, but it is our greatest hope that each young lady leaves feeling great about her experience, and energized to keep competing in this great program.

Another part of our mission is to help our titleholders in any way possible as they prepare for the state competitions. As a committee, we wrap ourselves around our titleholders to find out what they need or desire in their preparations for their respective state competitions. We're very proud of the fact that 10 of our titleholders have won the Miss Virginia Title, including one who went on to win the Miss America crown. Additionally, we've been fortunate to have one of our teens capture the Miss Virginia's Teen title. Our results in Roanoke are a sense of pride for our committee, but we give all the credit to the intelligent, talented, beautiful, and engaging young women who have held our titles over the years - every one of them. We love ALL of our young women, and we're richer for having them in our lives!
