Talent: Character Ballet en Pointe – “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”
Emily Kinsey is a graduate of The University of Alabama and currently earning her master's degree in communication studies. Emily was fortunate to pay for her entire college tuition through scholarships she earned through the Miss America Organization as Miss Virginia's Outstanding Teen in 2018. Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Emily began getting involved in her community at a young age. For 14 years she served SPCAs statewide by promoting animal adoption, advocating for humane practices, and collecting donations to support shelters. Emily also has a passion for the special needs community which has led her in college to lead the Bama Dream Team, a collegiate branch of the non-profit, Dream on 3. As captain, she has supported her team in fundraising over $10,000 to make a one-of-a-kind sports dream come true for a child in the Alabama community with special needs.
Emily's love for service has resulted in her development of an initiative called "Better Than You Found It" which urges Virginian's to get involved in service in any and all ways that are accessible and realistic to them. She plans on using social media to market several service opportunities across the Commonwealth so that Virginians are aware of the various ways they can become change-makers. In her free-time, Emily enjoys dancing on pointe, creating fashion content on social media, and conducting research for her master's program.
