Breana Turner is a dynamic individual driven by a sincere passion for empowering women. She has a passion for mentoring and cultivating confidence in Middle and high school young women and led a program called Sisters with Ambition for 5 years. Breana takes pride in her affiliation with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., embodying the essence of "Service to All Mankind." Her Community Service Initiative called Becoming HealthyHer by Improving Health Communication emphasizes the importance of equipping women with the skills and tools necessary to overcome white coat syndrome to prioritize overall health through the three P’s of “prepare, present, and prevent.” She is a current PhD candidate at Virginia Tech pursuing Translational Biology, Medicine, and Health. In 2021 Breana earned her Master of Public Health degree from Virginia Tech and holds certification as a Health Education Specialist. Before graduate education, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from George Mason University in 2019. Due to her academic endeavors and pageantry, she proudly calls this time in her life #ThePrincessandthePhD and vlogs her journey on social media platforms. Breana believes strongly in her motto, “As women and young women it’s never our responsibility to fit inside the limited box that society wants to define for us,” which is reflected in every area of her life. Ultimately, she is a multifaceted, multi-hyphenate woman who is on a steadfast mission to advocate for women's health, drive advancements in health equity, and continually uplift and empower others.
